The excursion to the Caño Negro Wildlife Refuge is an activity that nature lovers won’t want to miss out on.
This day trip is a boat tour that takes you from the boat launch on the Río Frío (Cold River) up to the Caño Negro Wildlife Refuge; there you can observe a great variety of flora and fauna; common sights include monkeys, birds, iguanas, turtles, caimans, etc. Our naturalist guide will identify and inform you about the different species you encounter.
This wetlands conservation area is recognized as being internationally important because it is home to a great number of migratory birds that pass through or roost in this region.
Here you will experience one of nature’s most beautiful wildlife displays. While boating along the riverbanks, you most likely will encounter a great variety of birds, flora, mammals, and reptiles. Among the many birds are Wood Stork, White Ibis, Anhinga, Glossy Ibis, and Black-bellied Whistling Duck.
